The Trane Water-Cooled Self-Contained Model SWUD is a 20- to 110-ton SWUD (Self-Contained Water-Cooled Unitary Device, a modular HVAC system) that uses a low-Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerant, R454-B, to meet new compliance requirements. The single-piece SWUD has a small footprint that fits into compact indoor spaces and meets the needs of low- to mid-rise new construction.
Space-conserving features include flexible left-hand and right-hand options for water, a paired cooling tower that can serve multiple units, and installed ductwork and VAV boxes that can also be used for heating. The integrated Symbio 500 controller and TD7 color touchscreen deliver smart connectivity and remote access. A standard fan array with ECM direct drive plenum fans featuring an integrated variable frequency drive (VFD) results in increased energy efficiency.
